When hundreds of chicks were sourced by the coordinators and personnel of the Office of the National Chairman (ONC), led by Hajjat Hadijah Namyalo, it was a moment of pomp and circumstance for them to go and start profitable poultry farms in their individual houses.
Yoweri Kaguta Museveni, the president Through Hajjat Namyalo, who has been touring the nation’s districts since last year to preach wealth creation and equip Ugandans with tools for making money, it has become clear that it is crucial to empower the people she works with because they are the ones who spread the word about wealth creation in the areas she hasn’t yet addressed.
As you are already aware, our ONC office has helped thousands of Ugandans nationwide since last year. We accomplish this with the help of our coordinators and the dedicated workers who work here. This time, we decided to empower them so they can travel and spread the word about a cause that is close to their hearts. Convincing someone to do something they don’t know how to accomplish is difficult, according to Namyalo.
She did, however, issue a warning against selling these girls, stating that the office will continue to keep an eye on all the recipients to ensure that the empowerment’s original goal was met.
We trust the people here, but there are others who are not. Nevertheless, we will warn you; if you leave and sell the help you are receiving, please know that jail is waiting for you. What we have provided you is start-up funding; this is a business. Namyalo advised the beneficiaries, “Go, make good use of this capital and show us how it has impacted you and show us how you are even planning to expand your poultry farm when I come to inspect you tomorrow.”
Each beneficiary received 100 chicks and a 25 kg bag of feed, and Namyalo pledged that the office will continue to distribute more to the beneficiaries when it received more. She stated that her only goal is to see the people who have devoted their lives to serving HE Yoweri Kaguta Museveni escape poverty.
