The majority of Agago’s Parish Development Model (PDM) beneficiaries have received praise from Hon. Lagen David Atuka, the member of parliament representing Agago County, for their cooperative efforts within the group Savings and Credit Cooperative Societies (SACCOs).

Lagen pointed out that there are 43 parishes in Agago County alone, meaning that his constituency has 43 distinct PDM SACCOs. “They were really moving as a group and didn’t leave anyone behind until most of them were paid,” he said, expressing his satisfaction with the community’s cooperation during the fund processing. “I want to express my gratitude to them,” MP David Atuka said.

Above all, he urged group members in the various SACCOs to discuss obstacles in their individual businesses and exchange ideas on project implementation in order to make sure that no one is left behind.

In order to avoid surprises when the refunding period approaches, he reminded everyone that PDM funds are refundable after two years. In order to reduce poverty among the Wanahinci in Agago District, Atuka emphasized the significance of managing the funds carefully.

Agago County MP Lagen David Atuka advised all 43 SACCO PDM beneficiaries to exchange ideas, including future visits between various businesses or group members. They would be able to compare and benefit from each other’s achievements as a result.

In a phone interview with the media on Wednesday night, Hon. David revealed that he is happy with the way the Agago County community is using the one million shillings that was donated to them to carry out various projects, and he promised to visit them shortly.

He asked the government to keep providing funding on schedule so that PDM programs could help a large number of people in various villages throughout the 43 parishes.

Atuka praised H.E. the President for his sensible decision to end poverty among Ugandans by implementing programs such as PDM, Emyoga, YLP, and UWEP, among others.

He forewarned that anyone discovered embezzling PDM funds in Agago would have to be caught and face legal repercussions. He stressed that there would be no room for corruption in the distribution of PDM funds in his capacity as the people’s representative.

When it comes to the distribution of PDM funds, Agago District is one of the districts that is still moving in the right direction.
