President Museveni Engages Buganda Clan Leaders, Urges Advocacy of Wealth Creation Message

The President urged the leaders to promote the National Resistance Movement's wealth development message.

At State House-Entebbe over the weekend, President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni met and conferred with clan heads of the Buganda Kingdom.

Hon. Joyce Nabbosa Ssebugwawo, the Minister of State for ICT, headed the delegation.

President Museveni urged the clan leaders to spread the National Resistance Movement’s (NRM) wealth development message to the general public at the meeting.

This was a follow-up meeting after last year’s exchange between the two sides. The President said that he would buy them property when the clan leaders asked him to do so at the first meeting.

The leaders stated in today’s meeting that they needed to build two structures on the 2.2 acres of land that the President had given them. They indicated that cultural resource centers including a theater and a museum would be housed in the buildings.

President Museveni responded by agreeing to have the Uganda People’s Defence Forces (UPDF) Engineering Brigade erect the buildings for them.

He also promised to provide Shs 200 million in support of the Bataka Sacco.
