Presidency Minister Hon Babalanda Milly Babirye Advocates Wealth Creation and Christian Values in Churches

She urged pastors to use government programs to uplift their congregations out of poverty and combat societal issues like corruption and land grabbing. Babalanda praised President Museveni for ensuring religious freedom and called for church leaders to foster a value-driven culture addressing issues such as drug abuse and social media misconduct.

Church clergy have been asked to preach wealth creation to their congregations. Hon. Babirye Milly Babalanda, the presidency minister, stated on Saturday that when people attend to church, they should find answers to some of their problems.

While attending the consecration of Bishop Steven Kyamaggwa and ten other pastors at Hope Worship Center Church in Maternity Village, Mukono Central Division, the Presidency minister urged pastors to ensure that their followers do not remain in poverty and instead see church as a place to pursue both spiritual and physical goals.

Minister Babalanda said Pentecostal pastors may benefit from government programs like as the Parish Development Model, Emyooga, skilling, youth livelihoods, and Women Empowerment grants, among others, to pull their communities out of poverty. She described churches as sanctuaries for those who have lost faith and face several earthly obstacles, particularly those related to their bodily needs.

The Minister blasted the country’s chronic corruption and land grabs, which are fueled by the avarice of Godless people. She stated that the majority of their cases of land grabbing had been submitted to her office and challenged various leaders to take a firm stance against such actions.

Mrs Babalanda applauded President Museveni for providing religious freedom for everybody. She believes church leaders should play a larger role in establishing a value-driven culture in which people are stopped from harmful behaviors such as homosexuality, drug misuse, sloth, and aggressive and cruel youngsters on social media, among others.

Mike Ssegawa, Mukono’s deputy resident district commissioner, praised Minister Babalanda’s efforts to promote a value-based society and Christian ideals in government. Other notable attendees included MP Betty Nambooze, former Mukono Mayor George Fred Kagimu, former Mukono District Chairman Andrew Senyonga, and Mukono Central Division Chairman Robert Kabanda, among others.

Apostle Steven Kyamaggwa, who founded his church with his wife Deborah 14 years ago, thanked President Museveni for appointing a pro-people leader in Minister Babalanda, and more than 100 pastors prayed for Minister Babalanda to be more favorably received by her boss, President Museveni, and those with whom she works. The Minister provided one million shillings to church development projects.
