PM Robina Nabbanja Urges Farmers to Embrace Value Addition

PM Robina Nabanjja emphasized the significance of agricultural fairs, stating that they give a forum for farmers and academics to communicate and share experiences and new technologies.

Prime Minister Robinah Nabbanja has encouraged farmers to add value to their products in order to increase their profits.

Nabbanja made the statements while presiding over a farmer mobilization, education, value addition, and service delivery campaign at Butemba Secondary School in Butemba Town Council, Kyankwanzi district, on Sunday, August 21.

During the three-day campaign, Nabbanja also visited the districts of Mubende, Mityana, and Kibogain in an effort to promote agricultural modernization, higher productivity, and sustainability.

She emphasized the significance of agricultural fairs, stating that they give a forum for farmers and academics to communicate and share experiences and new technologies.

Kyankwanzi district chairperson John Mpuuga pushed extension staff to assist farmers in modernizing and asked the government to intervene in some of the difficulties plaguing farmers, such as counterfeit chemicals and inputs on the market.

“I appeal to agricultural extension workers to put in more effort in serving our people so that farming can be modernized,” Mpuuga stated.

John Rubinga, the production manager at Nkwazi Resources Development Limited, one of the exhibiting agro enterprises, advised farmers to put their newfound knowledge into action.
