The Parish Development Model (PDM) initiative, which aims to alleviate poverty, according to Deputy Speaker of Parliament Thomas Tayebwa, would improve the fortunes of his Ruhinda County North constituency.

Tayebwa claims he discovered this at meetings he held in his constituency to monitor government programs.

“I have spent the last two days in my constituency monitoring government programs and engaging the community in wealth creation, with a particular emphasis on the Parish Development Model as guided by the Rt. Hon. Anita Among when she sent the House on recess.” “Holding parish meetings has enabled me to gather useful information from both beneficiaries and those who have yet to benefit,” Tayebwa said on X, previously Twitter, on Monday, September 18, 2023.

He stated that he has covered Rutokye Town Council and Kigyende sub-county thus far.

“Today I am in Kanyabwanga sub-county,” he declared. According to the reaction I’ve had so far, PDM is going to alter the lives of my people. Aside from a few operational issues, the community broadly supports this government initiative.”

Speaker Among recently urged MPs to use at least two weeks of their month-long break to educate their residents about the relevance of the Parish Development Model.
