In addition, Tayebwa, the member of parliament for the Ruhinda North region, gave 6 (six) brand-new HP printers to every sub county in his district.

Following several reports that parish chiefs were illegitimately charging between 10,000 and 40,000 to add each recipient to the system, Tayebwa was responding to comments from PDM beneficiaries.

As I continue to conduct barazas at the parish level in Ruhinda North on the Parish Development Model, I’ve learned that some local authorities added their own supplementary rules. For instance, they mandated that husbands must sign on behalf of their women before approval. Before banks released monies, the commercial officer in the Mitooma area also cleared all payments. Additionally, people are being charged UGX 10,000 to register with the system and additional funds for coordination needs, according to Mr. Tayebwa.

He stated that the unlawful accusations and interferences are against the rules and he warned parish chiefs to stop engaging in such unlawful behavior.
