Leaders Asked to Stop Bureaucratic Tendencies in PDM

According to Bashasha, beneficiaries who have been dreaming of launching income-generating enterprises but lack cash should be able to quickly access the funds, allowing the government to help the 39% who are not part of the money economy.

Many people have mentioned paperwork and difficult conditions as obstacles preventing them from getting Parish Development Model (PDM) program monies.

Wills Bashasha, the director of the Manifesto Implementation Unit in the President’s Office, has so asked local leaders to show patriotism by supporting citizens in accessing PDM cash without difficult circumstances.

According to Bashasha, beneficiaries who have been dreaming of launching income-generating enterprises but lack cash should be able to quickly access the funds, allowing the government to help the 39% who are not part of the money economy.

“This program is crucial.” “Make sure you reduce the paperwork and avoid unnecessary conditions that will turn off some of the targeted beneficiaries,” he added, adding that PDM is a do or die situation with no room for compromise.

Resident District Commissioner Michael Kibwika of Busia district claimed that when he came in the district, shilling 380 million for Emyooga was sitting in the bank, noting that the SACCOs who had been left out had now been organized and benefited from the cash.

He stated that the chairwoman of the elected leaders SACCO had been detained for suspected embezzlement and that recoveries had been made, as well as that stolen bikes for the boda boda SACCO had been recovered.

Sadiq Amil Agele, mayor of Busia municipality, complimented and urged the government to establish another presidential skilling centre in Tororo district, adding that Kibuku district was remote from regions in Southern Bukedi.

He praised the government for its strong developmental programs, but urged President Yoweri Museveni to assist the Municipality in completing the administration block that he started in 2012.

Bashasha paid a visit to the Butacho Mixed Dairy Farm, which benefited from Operation Wealth Creation, as well as another micro irrigation farm in the Masaba sub-county.
