The distribution of Emyooga money to district recipients has been restarted by the Hoima district local authority.
Due to poor administration, the Hoima district security committee ordered Emmanuel Ssempala, the Chief Administrative Officer [CAO], to stop distributing monies to recipients at the beginning of this year.
Michael Kyakashari, the Hoima Deputy Resident District Commissioner, claims that this is because his office has received multiple complaints about extortion and the implementers’ lack of openness.
According to Kyakashari, the majority of the problems have now been resolved, and recipients can begin submitting applications for the funds.
Hoima district has disbursed 72% of the Sh11.3 billion received under the Parish development model, according to Kyakashari.
