Greater Masaka

The center, which opened for business in May 17th 2023, provides free vocational training to young people from Masaka city and the nine (9) districts that make up the larger Masaka subregion who are between the ages of 18 and 35. The Katikkiro urged the young people to use this wonderful chance to develop their skills.

At the Ndegeya Village in Bugabira Parish in Masaka, the Presidential Skilling Industrial Hub for the wider Masaka sub region was inaugurated and the premier of Buganda made the announcement.

Greater Masaka district leaders, Buddu Pokino, and Raymond Kamugisha, Director of Presidential Projects and Industrial Hubs Engineer, graced the occasion. Jude Muleke, Justine Nameere, the president’s advisor for Greater Masaka, Samuel Keefa Kamya Ssemakula, the bishop emeritus for the West Buganda Diocese, Brig. Gen. Deus Sande, the commander of the UPDF’s Masaka Armoured Brigade, and others.

In place of Minister for Presidency Milly Babirye Babalanda, Kabuye Kyofatogabye, Minister of State for Kampala Capital City and Metropolitan Affairs, emphasized that the 19 presidential skilling hubs are intended to address Uganda’s high rate of unemployment and urged political leaders to support them.

The Masaka Presidential Skilling hub raises Uganda’s total to 20 industrial hubs.
