The National Agricultural Advisory Services (NAADS) on behalf of the government gave 500 in-calf heifers to the people of the Busoga region last week in an effort to reduce poverty.
By carefully assisting dairy farming, an essential industry that provides daily income and food security for numerous households, this project seeks to increase household income and enhance livelihoods.
The heifer distribution was thoughtfully organized to cover multiple districts in Busoga, with the following allocations:
- Iganga – 40
- Kaliro – 30
- Namayingo – 40
- Bugiri – 50
- Mayuge – 40
- Luuka – 30
- Kamuli – 50
- Namutumba – 40
- Jinja City – 40
- Bugweri – 20
- Buyende – 40
- Jinja District – 40
- Busoga Women Project – 40
To give the heifers to the excited locals, Prime Minister Robinah Nabbanja personally visited the Iganga District. As she spoke to the assembly, highlighting the government’s dedication to helping farmers and providing agricultural inputs for the production of riches, the air was charged with optimism and expectation.
The prime minister emphasized that because dairy farming guarantees daily economic stability and food security for households, it is a key enterprise that the government is targeting. She urged the beneficiaries to take full advantage of this chance to improve their standard of living and support the larger objective of reducing poverty in the area.
After receiving the heifers, the people of Busoga were filled with gratitude and a fresh resolve. Numerous individuals conveyed hope that this endeavor would greatly improve their financial security and general standard of living.
