Distribution of PDM Funds Begins in Kampala

On Tuesday, the Parish Development Model (PDM) money distribution got underway in Kampala. One million Ugandan shillings was given to the recipients straight to their cell phones.

The USAFI Taxi Park served as the venue for the official event. The ceremony was overseen by Hajjat Minsa Kabanda, the Minister for Kampala Capital City and Metropolitan Affairs.

The money was welcomed by the public. They intend to launch or expand their businesses with the money. The PDM program is an initiative by the government to distribute funds to residents in Kampala City’s 98 parishes.

For the Central Division, the government has already provided vouchers totaling one billion shillings. This displays the initial distribution, which will shortly encompass all five city divisions. In February 2022, President Museveni announced the PDM initiative. The objective is to assist 17.5 million individuals from 3.5 million households in escaping poverty.

The government’s most recent initiative to combat poverty and promote economic transformation is this program.
